Indigenous Business Australia assists and partners with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to enhance economic development opportunities. Besides providing financial assistance and loans, IBA has recently driven some incredible initiatives and products that are having a serious impact on the communities they serve.
Working with the IBA team and interviewing Indigenous business owners brought home just how important this work is. Strong Women, Strong Business was created off the back of a highly successful conference, the first of its kind created specifically for Indigenous women in business.
Strong Women, Strong Business is a video based training program that also connects new business owners with mentors who’ve been there before.
The program is delivered entirely by Indigenous business women, from the video modules through to the mentors themselves.
The onboarding journey was designed to be as simple as possible to use, whilst providing critical information for the algorithm to match with the best possible mentor. Mentors can see the progress of their mentees, and encourage them to become mentors when they’re ready. A Strong Women directory allows participants to connect to one another.
